Frequently Asked Questions

Where is your office?

My office is at 3218 West Linebaugh Ave. The zip code is 33618, and I’m in suite 105. The office building sits back from the road and is on the south side of Linebaugh close to the intersection with Dale Mabry. The waiting room has glass front walls. When you come in, you will see doorbells with suite numbers. At the time of your appointment, push the button for suite 105.

What kind of appointment should I make?

There are several ways to approach a problem. It could be that couples or family sessions are the best way to approach your current situation. Even if your significant other isn’t willing, an individual session can be extremely beneficial. Let’s talk about it during a free initial phone consult.

Do you take insurance?

I do not take insurance. If you have an out-of-network benefit and you would like to be reimbursed by your insurance company, I can provide you with a receipt which has the information to submit for reimbursement.

How does talking about things make any difference anyway?

You may already speak to friends and family about the things you would like to change. Speaking with a therapist is different.

I don’t have my own ideas about who you should be and how you should live. Sometimes friends and family members can be invested in their intentions for you. Even if they mean well, it can be pressure. I have spent years in school and training, and 20 years in practice. I bring knowledge and experience; you bring your unique vision of what you want your life to be.

We don’t just talk; the conversations are not like polite chit chat. Sessions can be filled with emotions, and sometimes you will try out new ways of interacting with people, new behaviors, and new internal language which you work on between our meetings. There is a powerful benefit to feeling safe enough to honestly look at yourself and relationships. A skilled and caring therapist can be instrumental in making profound change in your life.

How do I get started?

Call me at 813-877-1111. We will set up a time to consult which will take about 20 minutes. Together we will decide on the best course of action. I welcome the opportunity to get to know you and help you build the life you want.

What does Raja do? What if I’m afraid of dogs?

Raja is a source of affection and support. She helps people feel calm and at ease. However, if you have a fear of dogs, that’s okay. Let me know, and I can arrange for Raja to be away form the office during your session.
